Yes, you can, though if you want to use VAT with your sound blaster card
you'll have to use something called `vat-and-a-half' designed for
half-duplex cards like the sound blaster (as opposed to full-duplex
cards like the Gravis or Audiotrix).  See the multimedia archives at:
