In comp.unix.bsd.freebsd.announce an article was posted some weeks ago, which describes an additional application to xv (commercial). xv-scan, i think. It was only tested with HP3c. Please report, how it works with HP4c ... I am happily running XVScan on an HP ScanJet 4c, though under Linux. As far as I understand it, there is negligible or no difference between the 3c and 4c from a hardware perspective. Leonard
