Someone please fill me in as I'm reluctant to install : them without an idea of their purpose. dt is, as you said the desktop program...or Virtual Desktop.. it allows you to switch screens between different termianls using the command-# combination...you can open as many terminals..well..i'm guessing 10..(1-0) but i've never opened that many before. Very useful :) hfs allows you to access the MacOS partition of your HDs...for things like copying text files from your MacOS side...or copying files, etc. procps, if i remember correctly, is used in place of the ps command. I'm not sure if it's still useful since it's release...but it's not something that you really need... : Also, if anyone knows where I can find some actual MacBSD X11R6 : (or even R5) binaries, please let me knw. All the pointers I find : point to ghosts. try these places... ftp puma.bevd.blacksburg.va.us ftp ftp.eskimo.com ftp cray-ymp.acm.stuorg.vt.edu ftp ftp.iastate.edu I'm not sure if these places changes and what they still hold, but you might want to check them out....
