I'm interested in purchasing a Gateway Solo or Micron Millenia Transport
portable. I will probably be installing FreeBSD 2.1 on this portable.
Is anyone using these portables (or similar ones) running FreeBSD?
Will the CD-ROM and PCMCIA devices work ok? The portables will have
a 28.8 fax/modem PCMCIA device and I was wondering if I'd get it to
work all right? Also, installing FreeBSD from a CD using the modular
CD-ROM -- will this work all right? Is a portable a good PC to use
FreeBSD on? Or would I be better off with a desktop?
Thanks in advance for any suggestions.
