Lee) Newsgroups: comp.unix.bsd.bsdi.misc Subject: Removing hostname from From: line in sent mail Date: 22 Feb 1996 13:06:19 -0800 Organization: Dal Enterprises Inc. Lines: 35 Message-ID: <4gilsb$ts@dei.calldei.com> NNTP-Posting-Host: 205.179.37.1 I have a local TCP network and 1 main bsd system on calldei.com (dei). All my mail gets sent to dei.calldei.com (via an MX record) This is what I want. However, whenever I *send* mail it puts my hostname in the From line. I want my From line to be From: dave@calldei.com instead of From: dave@dei.calldei.com I'm sure this is a common question, but since I dont have a PhD in sendmail.cf I cant figure it out! Anyone have any suggestions ? Thanks in advance Please CC any answers to dave@calldei.com. -David Lee dave@calldei.com (no matter what my From line says!) -- ------------------------------------- Name: David Lee E-mail: Dave@calldei.com (David Lee) Dal Enterprises Inc.
