This kinda sounds like my problem ... I solved it by: setting ttys device to baud rate I wanted to use. using cu -l /dev/ttyd0 going in at the baud rate, and parity I wanted, at memorizing these setting with at&w command. then reboot machine. -- Apparantly what was happening is the modem was programmed at some baud rate. I program pppd to 38400. When the modem was answering, it used the rate it was programed at, and not detecting the baud rate incoming. Using the at&w command with the speed and parity set the way ppp was programed, FreeBSD, and the modem would be synchronized with the same baud rate. I hope this helps Michael Peer e-mail: mpeer@cccd.edu www: http://pioneer.gwc.cccd.edu >-- >Slowly and surely the unix crept up on the Nintendo user ... >Wayne Willcox I will not eat green eggs and ham >wayne@obiwan.pmr.com I will not eat them Sam I Am!! >wayne@obiwan.pmr.com (or obiwan%wayne@uunet.uu.net)
