It would help a lot if you would let us know where the drive connects
internally, since a lot of resellers stick their own name on a drive
they buy from someone else.

If the drive connects to a sound card or some plug-in card,
what type of card is it, and what label is on the CD-ROM connector?
Look for phrases like "Creative", "Panasonic", "Mitsumi", "Sony", etc.

If the CD-ROM is connected to the main logic board, count the pins
in the cable. If it has 50, it is a SCSI drive. If it has 40, it
is an IDE drive. SCSI drives are supported and work reasonably well
and IDE drives are supported at an Alpha level. It will be necessary
to boot using the atapi.flp boot image if you have an IDE drive, rather
than the normal boot.flp image.
