This information is already documented in the basic "Usage" instructions for 2.1.0-RELEASE - the very first menu item under your cursor when you enter install. :-) > at the moment I *still* cant install 2.1.0-RELEASE, cos I get "ERASE PENCIL > MARK" i.e. > 1 3C5x9 board(s) on EISA found at 0x4000 > ep0: 3c5x9 at 0x4000 in test mode. Erase Pencil Mark! > ep0: eeprom failed to come ready I'm trying to remember what this error message meant. It has to do with a jumper on the board which used to be literally a pencil mark you could make between two pads - the graphite is conductive enough to form a high resistance jumper of sorts. Anyway, that's the eytomology of the error message but in more modern times I believe that this is an actual software or hardware setting for the adapter. Do you have any software that came with it for DOS setup? -- - Jordan Hubbard President, FreeBSD Project
