I just tried installing the pidentd port from the FreeBSD-current Ports
Collection(which I have although my installation is 2.1R).

It asked for 2.6.1,which it could not find at the lysator, berlin,or
freebsd sites.

I fired up NCFTP(itself the non-current version from the Ports Collection)
and went to lysator, finding only 2.7a6 and 2.7a7 versions of pidentd.
I got the former over into /usr/ports/distfiles.

However, can I now 1)change the filename on this .gz file so the
Makefile thinks it has what it wants,OR
2)edit the Makefile to look for the version I have?

Or will the installation still fail because the patches mismatch,or
something?

Please advise!
