The other night I was trying to biult the snp device so I could use
watch. I did a ./MAKEDEV * in the /dev directory and it blew away
my device tables completely.

(Either that or the machine over heated and looked up.)

What I want to know is...

1. Did I do this to myself with the command I ran?
2. Could I have saved the installation without reinstalling? If so, how?
