as the subject says, i'm looking for some volunteers with some understanding
of pc video hardware and software to test a new release of the former
pccons_vga driver which was posted to alt.sources a while ago.

this new release will introduce (besides fixed bugs, new functionality etc.)
some form of video hardware detection at runtime, to see if a hercules, mda,
cga, ega or vga card is installed and (re-)configure the driver for that board.

this requires knowledge of pc video hardware, and access to the hardware
in question.

second, this is dangerous and requires great care, because the video hard-
ware is the part of a pc, which is destroyable by (alphatest-) software.

i know, this sounds not good, but .....

the test release will be ready in about 1 or 2 weeks.

thank you!

hellmuth
