I've used both WD and SMC "elite 16" NIC's and the both work great; as long as you don't soft boot. This AM I just removed the WD NIC (borrow'd) and installed a newly purchased SMC; The artwork on the PCB [and it's size] is different but the setup disk, manual etc... looked the same and both will not be recognized by 386BSD if I don't throw the switch. (no 'shutdown -r now <cr>' *frown*) Am using the values in the "INSTALL.NOTES" which require I run the "EZSETUP" DOS utility on their diskette to reconfigure. -Matt Mannhardt - WL7CDE - Any opinions in this posting are my own and not those of my employer.
