IP aliasing? RTFM ifconfig(8) for this. For linking a network into the Internet (or other network) without having to change all IP addresses on the first network. I have the same need as I have a 28.8 Kb modem link home and a FreeBSD box at both ends of it. Rather than running SLIRP (which is one way of doing it) I want the box at home to IP-Masq as I'm playing with IPIP encapsulation and need connection to that box, at home directly. I've managed to do it using SLIRP, A FreeBSD box, a PC running KA9Q NOS and a serial link. :-( Slow but usable. It would be nice to have all that functionality available via an IP-masq'ing facility and I could lose one box.
