I have purchased a similar motherboard (Intel Atlantis), and have had some problems by installing it: 1) There is a conflict between the sio3 port and the ATI graphics adapter, causing the screen to blank out when trying to install FreeBSD. This can be fixed by disabling ALL serial ports, end then removing port 0x3e8 from /usr/src/sys/i386/isa/sio.c and rebuilding the kernel. 2) I have not been able to get Xfree86 running with the Mach64 accelerated server, since it doesn't recognize the ATI-mach64CT chip properly. (Maybe because chip signature isn't recognized by Xfree? I hope this is OK in the next official release of XFree.) 3) There is a peculiar error in the BIOS, causing drive A: and B: in the BIOS setup to be swapped when DOS comes up. (It seems like the BIOS tries to be intelligent and assigns the 1.44 kb drive to drive A: regardless of BIOS setup.) FreeBSD is not aware of this peculiarity. (of course..) This causes me to have to enter the BIOS setup to get the floppy drives working - in FreeBSD XOR MS-DOS.
