I've got Netscape on a FreeBSD box and it sort of : : : works but it gives a whole bunch of "Translation table" (or some such) errors : : : and crashes when I try to paste into a text window even though I have the nls : : : directory which is supposed to stop that from happening. So can I make : : : Netscape work or can someone recommend another browser (with version, etc. : : : ideally) that they know works well on FreeBSD. : : : You need to copy the nls directory and the XKeysymDB File included in : : the Netscape distribution in order to have NLS functions and the Motif : : Keysym Table available. : : This assumes that he is runing Motif!!! Motif is not part of the dists. : : I have found this same problem. Just something we have to live with : short of geting motif to use it. Please correct me if I am wrong on this : point. I would liek to get rid of those error messages also. I am told, though I've been much too lazy to check, that lynx can be fondled to have much of the functionality of Netscape (I've even heard of it being able to do tables). I'm sure he'll be annoyed (cuz he's busy), but why not send email to my friend Bennett Todd (bet@mordor.com) who has been absolutely haranging (probably not spelled correctly) me to check out all these neato patches for lynx. Go ahead, pester him...he likes it....and if he doesn't I spose he'll stop buying me beers when I see him...which could very well be a blessing in disguise. :) Cheers, Chris -- Christopher Mauritz | For info on internet access: ritz@mordor.com | finger/mail info@ritz.mordor.com OR Mordor International | http://www.mordor.com/ 201/212/718 internet access | Modem: (201)433-7343,(212)843-3451
