My machine can be completely idle for hours (ie no long running processes), but "uptime" still claims that the load average is 1.00. I've caught a glimpse of this one or two times in the past, but this is the first time with FreeBSD 2.1. Any ideas as to why this might be happening? Thanks, Gil --- Example: $ uptime 3:48PM up 1 day, 2:46, 5 users, load averages: 1.04, 1.05, 1.18 $ ps -agx PID TT STAT TIME COMMAND 0 ?? DLs 0:00.00 (swapper) 1 ?? Is 0:00.05 /sbin/init -- 2 ??
