I am running a Dell 4066/XE EISA 486/66 machine; I've just brought memory up to 32MB. Memory is 8 4MB 30 pin simms in stackers occupying the first two 72 pin slots on the motherboard. The 32MB is recognized in EISA config, in BIOS setup, in DOS, and in the boot monitor. When I boot the freebsd kernel, however, it only sees 16MB. This is with both the generic and a present-devices-only kernel that I've compiled. The memory tests good with no errata in the boot process and in system diags. BOUNCEBUFFERS is defined in both of the aforementioned kernels. For the record, I am running the built in S3/VESA video, an UltraStor 24f EISA SCSI controller, a 3C503 ethernet controller, com 1 & 2, and one extra (com3) serial I/O. I'm at a bit of a loss, and am wondering if anyone has seen/solved a similar problem out there? Thanks in advance. r -- ===================================================================== Randy Kirchhof | Travis County, TX | rkk@kirchhof.com | hm - 512/259-7171
