[snip] And fixed the problem today. It turns out that the drive's firmware needed to be updated. A call to Quantum's _very_excellent_ technical support with the information (phase error especially) I had was able to get me running within an hour of calling them. They didn't even flinch when I told them what I was trying to install... I'm _very_ impressed with Quantum and would definitely recommend their high end drives with support like this. I was able to get FreeBSD installed with minimum problems after that. Now to stripe two other 2GB disks... :) Chris
