Seperate board, but the SCSI BIOS is on board. I've got a system based off an ASUS P54TP4 board with an asus SC-200 board and run it with a CD-ROM, HP ScanJet scanner, and small swap hard drive. It work fine with one exception. I had to get a patch from the driver author to disable command timeouts because of the scanner. You might want to check out patches in -current.
