Hm, why do you try to run Linux Netscape where there is a BSD-Version?
Just use the unknown BSD binaries provided by Netscape. What I have
hanging around here is:
netscape-v112-export.i386-unknown-bsd.tar.Z
netscape-v20-export.i386-unknown-bsd.tar.gz
Both versions work almost flawlessly. Almost means, that I experienced
one or two situations where they ended with some errors with 1.12 when
using just 8 megs of RAM. After changing the RAM module to a 16 meg
one, it work's fine, so I'm sure it was a hardware problem.
