I've been running the BSDI version of news very succesfully for a few
months. Last weekend, I noticed the 'history' file was over 200MB.
Also, it took 'expire' about 20 hours to run. We carry a FULL
newsfeed from 2 sources.

How can I build a new and reliable history file? I tried 'newhist'
but it would not restart the server when finished and made no
difference.

Am I running 'newhist' incorrectly? What are the steps for rebuilding
all 3 history files?

TIA
