You have to ftp >to the dists directory... but then it can't find a kernel <sigh> It works OK if you use ftp:/my.machine.with.cd//cdrom/ as the URL ^^ ^ Note the extra slashes. I frequently install from a CD mounted on another machine, and I have never made a root.flp floppy.
