I just cleared the same problem by throttling the server and running 'makehistory -bo'. Before hand I had pruned the spool by hand down to about 1.5 GB. Took several hours to run, but when it was done I had a 46 MB history file. Things are running *much* faster now. I was expecting to see some repeat articles due to my pruning, but haven't noticed any yet. 14 days from now I expect my history file to be back up to its usual 110 MB. My questions is why wouldn't 'makehistory -bou' work? Gave me a usage error. The 'u' is only there to throttle the server, isn't it? -bu works fine. -- Jeff Stehman Senior Systems Administrator stehman@southwind.net SouthWind Internet Access, Inc. voice: (316)263-7963 Wichita, KS URL for Wichita Area Chamber of Commerce: http://www.southwind.net/ict/
