I am running a gateway using FreeBSD 2.1 on a system with a pair of
Intel LANExpress cards, interfaces ix0 and ix1, works great.

The driver for the Intel etherexpress does not support the packet
filter, I'm afraid. That driver has been essentially abandoned, and I
do not recommend it for general use (if it works great for you then
this is a big anomaly since it generally times out all over the place
for everyone else).

Anyone care to adopt a driver? ix0 needs an owner! :-)
