While i agree with the date of appearance (as already posted else- where), i seem to remember that i ran the first 386BSD 0.0 on just a 386/16 with 4 MB RAM. I've upgraded to 6 MB later in the game (the 4 MB machine was also running ISC before, and i've been really surprised about the stability of FFS compared to the ISC SysV file system).
