Rich The default XConfig in the XFree86 distribution has the wrong setting for FontPath. Delete the Speedo directory which does not exist. People responsible for distributing XFree86 for 386bsd should take note of this. It caused a lot of head aches for me, and I'm sure many beginners will make the same mistakes. I got a picture but it rolls. Vertical frequency error, too high. Tseng Labs DMODE does not help much. Clock.exe gives too many clock frequencies, do not know which one to select. I read somewhere in the manuals that we must tell Xconfig about all the clocks. I chose the smallest, 25.175 as recommended by DMODE. clock.exe and startx reommends 25,28,33, etc. How does this ET4000 select the clocks . Does X386 know how to program the clocks? -- Othman bin Ahmad, School of EEE, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore 2263.
