I'd recommend bozohttpd, you can get it via anonymous ftp from
`ftp://ftp.eterna.com.au/bozo/bsf/attware/bozohttpd.tar.gz'.  There's
also a mirror of this at `ftp://pfawww.pp.se/pub/bsf'. 

The distribution is under 7k and it's all written in perl.  The server
understands GET, HEAD and POST, you can also use CGI programs without
any problems.

There's a mailinglist for the server which you can subscribe to at
`mailto:bozohttpd-users-request@eterna.com.au'.

I run it, so should you!
