After replacing the Zenith Gt motherboard I still could not access scsi drives with an Adaptec 2940U. So I replaced it with a buslogic scsi card. Then I was able to use the disks and the smc etherpower card, but bsdi still was not seeing the dec fddi card. I tried modifing the GENERIC configuration to explicitly tell bsdi that the fddi card was using irq 9. Then everyting worked! For an hour or so. Then I had three crashes with a message about a bad interrupt on DE0 (the smc ethernet card). I pulled the cable out of the ethernet card and put on bnc terminators, and the system stayed up. But now I don't have ethernet. I think I will just save the dump, call BSDI, and try using an ISA ne2000 card the problem is resolved. This shot my St. Patricks day to hell. -- Craig Hapanovich Lead Systems Analyst City of Milwaukee
