If you use the "set active >partition" option to os-bs, you should be able to boot either one, right? Or just install one of the netbsd/freebsd systems, change the boot code to use another partition type (with netbsd, I had to change it in 2 files, start.s and a .h file I can't remember, grep around for A5), rebuild, , reboot with dos and run pfdisk, change the partition type, and your golden.
