Strangely, the problem went away : when I removed the Ethernet card 3COM590. I plugged it back, : the problem showed up again. I am planning to change the : ethernet card. Did anybody has similar experience with this : card? Anyway to fix it? Which IRQ does your Ethernet Card use ? If it collides with your sio interrupt, sio won't be seen... And for Jaisihma: Get a program like "M$ System Diagnose msd.exe" or something like that to see what IRQ and hardware addresses your sio ports are using. It may also be shown on system start (power-on). Maybe IRQs or Addresses are different than the usual ones. You'll have to type "-c" at boot prompt then and change the sio devices to the right IRQ a/o hardware addresses.
