I'm not sure this will help you, but try disabling detection of sio3 device
at boot-up.  Address range which ATI Mach64 card uses overlaps that which COM4
(sio3) uses.  You can give -c switch at the bootstrap loader prompt and then
give "visual" command at the "config>" prompt to enter a menu for disabling it.
