Message-ID: <1992Oct13.062759.4976@sserve.cc.adfa.oz.au> Sender: news@sserve.cc.adfa.oz.au Organization: Australian Defence Force Academy, Canberra, Australia Date: Tue, 13 Oct 1992 06:27:59 GMT I have an old non SVGA card, an Everex EV673, I'd like to run it in 640x480x2-bit until I can get a new card/monitor. I've installed XFree86 under 386BSD (with kernel patches), and set up a basic vga2 Xconfig. When I start X386mono, it gives up immediately with a list of possible drivers, indicating that it can't recognise my card?! I force a chipset "generic", but that makes no difference. Does anybody have an idea on how to fix this problem. The card has 512K, not that it needs more than 128K.
