The only good book I have found is Comer and Stevens "Internetworking with TCP/IP Volume II". I am looking for additional references, especially those which relate directly to LINUX and FreeBSD. Yes -- I know they come with source code -- I was hoping for a "program logic" manual for the network subsystem of either of these OS/s, as well as other good "nuts and bolts" implementation type books (I'm reasonably comfortable with the theory -- I want implementation details). I also want to find code (or a book) that implements a network sniffer for ethernet, ARP, ICMP, UDP, and TCP packets. LINUX, FreeBSD, DOS, OS/2, or Windows code is fine. Or recommendations on cheap commercial stuff welcome. Any pointers would be appreciated. I will post a summary. To make sure I don't miss the reply, an e-mail copy would be appreciated, but isn't mandatory. ------------------------------------------------------------ Orville R.
