We are looking for qualified Linux and FreeBSD people who are knowledgeable about installation and administration of those operating systems. You will also gain experience in CDROM production and development. Experience in CDROMs and Multimedia is helpful, but not required. Programming experience in C, C++, perl is beneficial. You need to be able to work well as part of a team. You will be working on 486/Pentium systems (running Linux, FreeBSD, MSDOS, Windows, OS/2), Sun Sparcstatations, and Macintoshes. You don't need to know all of these systems, but it would help if you have programmed on at least a couple of them. Since we're still a small company, you will need to be flexible. Your main tasks will include system administration, developing CDROMs, providing service for our customers, collecting and sorting data, and attending trade shows. The work environment is informal, so you can wear blue jeans almost everyday. But that doesn't mean we aren't serious. You need to be able to stick to deadlines. The job includes normal benefits like health insurance, paid vacation, production incentives, and a retirement fund (matching 401K). When we are working late to meet a publication deadline, we also provide free pizza. The pay will depend on experience. If you think you might be the right person for one of these jobs, please send email to jobs@cdrom.com (please do not reply directly to me). If you are sending a resume, please use either ASCII or Postscript. -- Jun Akiyama Technical Supervisor, Walnut Creek CDROM
