Does anyone know of a workaround that will allow me to install FreeBSD
with an EIDE Max (Promise Tech) installed. The hard drive I wish to
install to is NOT connected to the EIDE Max card, but I can't even boot
the FreeBSD install floppy with EIDE Max in place. NetBSD will boot the
floppy and install to hard drive, but can ONLY boot the floppy. Locks up
when attempting to boot from the hard drive. FreeBSD won't even boot the
floppy. Any suggestions (other than removing EIDE Max card)???

TIA...
