After I boot the boot.flp diskette and configure for an FTP install, I get to: Attempt to chdir to distribution in pub/FreeBSD... and then get the following error message: Couldn't get root image from ftp://ftp.freebsd.org/pub/FreeBSD I enabled DEBUG and found out that the installation is trying to download via FTP the file root.flp. These are the commands being issued: > ftp ftp.freebsd.org < Name ... > ftp < Guest login ok, send password ... > ftp < ... (lots of informational messages) > cd pub/FreeBSD < 250 CWD command successful > cd 2.1.0-RELEASE < 250 CWD command successsful > bin < 200 Type set to I > get floppies/root.flp < floppies/root.flp: No such file or directory The floppies directory exists and has the file root.flp, but the ftp get command fails. Anybody knows how to fix this? I tried to download root.flp myself and copy it to a flopy with dd if=root.flp of=/dev/rfd0, but got a gunzip input/output error message during the install(my file has the right md5 checksum). Help much appreciated. abrao@worldbank.org
