In my opinion, attitude is what will determine the degree of widespread popularity of FreeBSD which will attract talented new developers to supplement existing developers. I think the problems average users have experienced in performing what should be mundane tasks such as adding a SCSI disk drive have tended to give them some thoughts and feelings about how important they are to the developers of FreeBSD, whoever they may be. It would be a shame if their thoughts and feelings did not correspond with reality, but I think it is reasonable for them to draw some conclusions based on their observations about ease of use, as well as on the comments made by those who develop, support, or in some other way represent FreeBSD.
