I just installed FreeBSD 2.1 and cant seem to be able to save the device
settings. I boot up with -c and go through removing devices that I am not
using and changing addresses of conflicting devies. I save and exit, but the
next time I reboot everything is back. I am totally new to this so maybe I am
doing something stupid.

I am also getting permission denied when trying to access certain directories
and when trying to create directories. I am logging in as root with the
admin password and login is o.k..... I think.......

I have checked out the documentation on the boot disc, but it is not much
help. I have also checked out various FAQ's with no progress....

I am trying to set this system up to be able to learn UNIX, so I dont know
much about it...Any help would be greatly appreciated.
