Depending on my knowledge The matrox is not really 3d accelerated, but it
has only ability to draw tiangles and similar with color slide's in them.
This will of course help virtua figher and similar games and "filled
vireframe" type of things, but it cant do "real" hardware rendering a' la
Silicon Grapics.

Am I right. (or is telling this thing violation of nda? )

: competitors can steal our designs. We are not like Cirrus or Diamond that
: uses a Generic S3 chip set which every one has the source code. The company

Hmm The customer can get the car in any color he wants as long as it is
black. I thought that went out early 1900's.

Hoe many vision S3-chip clones have you seen?
( When has cirrus used Vision S3 chip? )
How many cirrus copies have you seen?
are you sure that programming infformation includes scematics?

Once upon a time there was a company that had 3 litle letters in it's name.
It made computer that had 2 letters in it's name and WOW it sold well. Then
it made another with hard disk and WOW is sold also good. after that it made
even 3rd and sold well too, but it had notised that other sold well too.
Then it become greedier and desided to change strategy and it made a bus of
it's own that nobody else is allowed to make. And thecomputer no longer had
2 letters in it's name. And the company was so happy when it had a computer
that no-one alse could make. And it was so happy that it almoust died in it's
happyness.
