There is one Internet but many countries and many laws.
I'm pretty sure that reverse engineering is perfectly legal in
most countries all over the world (maybe not in the US).

   2) You will make no friends in the XFree86[TM] community by doing so.  We

Huh... and what you will do if someone from country where it is perfectly legal
provide Matrox driver sources? just curious...
