This sounds awfully familiar.  I remember back when the Diamond
Stealth 64 hit the market and every one was looking for an X server
on linux with support for this card.  They didn't want to give up the
specs for the card for much the same reasons.  IMHO this is bad
buisness practice.  Here is a company which makes a peice of hardware
and they put keeping the specs a secret over having the card supported
on another platform therby cutting a percentage of customers away from
their profits.  If you want my oppinion it's not worth the trouble.
Find another card which will do the same thing.  Essentially what they
are saying is that they don't want you as a customer.  When I have to
go looking for a piece of harware the number 1 thing I look for is
compatibility with Linux.  That is why I go with companies like
adaptec and 3Com.  It's not worth the hassle.
