I'm trying to install FreeBSD 2.1 on my PC. I have a P90 w/16MB and 3 IDE
HDs, a 730MB, 1.2GB, and a 528MB in that order. The first two I want to
keep for DOS(Win95) and the 528MB I want to devote to FreeBSD. I spent
weeks reading all the documentation I could find. Then I went to install it
from Walnut Creeks CDROM. The installation goes fine until I confirm that
I'm ready and it does a few things, then on "Loading the root image" it
locks up. I tried a few more times and the same. So I figured it must be
my CDROM. So I copied all the distributions to my hard drive and selected
the Install from HD option. The same lockup ezactly. I tried both root
floppies and neither worked. I dont have any unsupported hardware (at least
none I want to use w/FreeBSD). I used "X-User" for the dist set. It did
however install the boot manager but its only got one option "F1 . . . dos".

If ANYBODY can offer ANY help I'd really appreciate it. Ive read and
re-read the docs until I'm blue in the face...

Thanks in advance,
