Me again Im afraid..

On a slightly related topic - as a result of this problem I decided
to give the Linux 2.01 Netscape version a go as I had heard reports
of success running JAVA applets with this.

Tried running the linux version but got the following errors -

$ ./netscape
resolv+: "hosts" is an invalid keyword
resolv+: "bind" is an invalid keyword

Netscape then runs but fails to resolve any DNS names - interestingly
I got the same problem when I tied to run other Linux network
executables (eg ping) as an experiment.

Never mind about the DNS though - I only want to run local applets -
I tried the good old 'HelloWorld' and of course ended up a core dump.

Anyone able to help here ??

Would life be eeasier if I was running 2.2-SNAP ??

As all I really want to do is test applets while I am learning JAVA
does anyone know if 'appletviewer' would work if I had the MOTIF
dynamic libs (seems to complain about these if you try)

Everything else is running fine however !!!

$ uname -a
FreeBSD aardvark.jagunet.com 2.1.0-RELEASE FreeBSD 2.1.0-RELEASE #0: Mon Apr  1 00:24:55
EST 1996 root@aardvark.jagunet.com:/usr/src/sys/compile/AARDVARK  i386

$ modstat
Type Id Off Loadaddr Size Info Rev Module Name
EXEC      0   3 f0843000 0018 f0848000   1 linux_emulator

Using JDK-1.0 port

Thanks
