My situation is this : ACom P4000/Cannon 150 486 33mhz laptop with 16MB of memory and a 540MB Toshiba mk1924FCV hard drive. I also have a couple of PCMCIA cards (ActionTec SCSI, AT&T Modem) that I would like to test out for the FreeBSD pcmcia effort in Japan; however, I'm not using either of these cards during the install. My first problem seems to be setting aside the space for FreeBSD. Tried to use FIPS to re-suffle my one DOS partition, but I get the following error: Part.|bootable|Head Cyl. Sector|System|Head Cyl. Sector| Sector |Sectors -----+--------+----------------+------+----------------+--------+-------- 1----|-----yes|---1----0------1|---06h|--31--525-----63|------63|--105833 Error: Partition Table Corrupt - end: partition 1 The end sector (head/cylinder/sector) does not match the absolute start sector + the number of sectors Bye! I have everything backed up, so I decided to go ahead a make a boot disk. The boot disk seems work ok; however, when it is done looking for hardware, the computer reboots and process starts over again. I did notice one odd thing, though. The disk, wd(0), is reported as having 518MB, 1061424 sectors, 1052 cyls., 16 heads, 63 sec/trk, and 512 Blk/Sec. Any suggestions concerning the boot floppy and/or disk partitioning utilities/strategies would be most appreciated. TIA, Chris
