My target machine is a pent 75 with a 2940 and a atapi cd-rom. In the freebsd handbook it says to use the inst_ide.bat file to install. My release does not have the file. Is there a reasonably easy bath to getting what I need to install or should I just get a new cd with 2.1 ??? I have the server up and running with Red Hat 2.1 linux. This server is going to go on line as ftp and mail server . Some folks have suggested that freebsd is more stable and would be a better choice. Any comments ???
