I'm running 2.1 on one of their P6-200 boxes (which sell for about
6900 including a 21 inch monitor, pci scsi, Matrox 4mb card, and
10/100 ethernet). This is in a big Sun shop. It kicks *SERIOUS*
butt. I compile a software system I am developing in about 2 minutes.
It takes 20 times longer on sparcstation 5s and 10 times longer
on sparc 20.

The only thing not supported by FreeBSD is the ethernet card (3C595).
I use the Xaccel server for the Matrox card (and modulo a few problems
I am reasonably happy with it.) I have huge AMD maps that work compatibly
with the sun automout map setup at this site.

The only bummer is that Pure doesn't support FreeBSD.

P.S. Which benchmark will show up the P6 performance bug?
