Do any of the versions of Freebsd >(2.0, 2.0.5, or 2.10) support IDE hard drives greater than 540 MB? If >so, how does not set this up? Also, using a Zappa or Endevor Intel FreeBSD 2.1.0 No special setup that I am aware of. After setting LBA in the BIOS and then booting the install disks everything worked automatically. At boot time I see: wdc0 at 0x1f0-0x1f7 irq 14 on isa wdc0: unit 0 (wd0): <WDC AC31600H> wd0: 1549MB (3173184 sectors), 3148 cyls, 16 heads, 63 S/T, 512 B/S wdc1 at 0x170-0x177 irq 15 on isa wdc1: unit 0 (wd2): <ST3491A-XR> wd2: 408MB (836070 sectors), 899 cyls, 15 heads, 62 S/T, 512 B/S ie the full number of cyls/heads/sectors but DOS etal see LBA and can use the whole disk. I'm not an expert, all I can see is it works for me. >motherboard with 2 IDE controllers, can Freebsd actually have 4 IDE >drives? >-- See above, use two hd controllers (wdc0 & wdc1) with wd0-wd4 hanging off them. So yes. /mark -- +-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-+ | Mark Hannon,| FreeBSD - Free Unix for your PC| mark@seeware.DIALix.oz.au| | Melbourne, | PGP key available by fingering | epamha@epa.ericsson.se | | Australia | seeware@melbourne.DIALix.oz.au | | +-=-=-=-=-=-=-+-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-+
