Thomas convinced me that testing AccelX would be a good way to spend my Sunday, so here's the final results: 8bpp, 1024x768 @ 75Hz XFree86: 112240 AccelX: 174143 16bpp, 1024x768 @ 75Hz XFree86: 40652 AccelX: 70109 All tests on a Linux/ELF machine, Xbench 0.2, 486DX66, Elsa Winner 1000Trio (which is a S3 Trio64 PCI card with 2Mb DRAM). Full data available on request. For the Joe A. Xuser, it is especially nice that AccelX has a double to quadruple textStones rating on my machine.
