I'm running a P5-120 who's predominant purpose is simply hosting the
POP mail accounts for my users. The only user who actually can log
into the system is myself.

I've got POPPER running, and it seems to time-out alot. The users who
access POP mail are doing so via dial-up connections to the system
through a Livingston Portmaster.

For those who may be interested, the machine is also doing RADIUS user
authentication for the Livingston units. The RADIUS authentications
also lag out extensively on occasion.

Anybody have any ideas what could be going wrong ? Or... in light of
the limited services that the machine is servicing, how to optimize
the performance of the system as a whole ? There is no reason why a
P5-120 should be gagging like this.

E-Mail responses always preffered and findings will be posted back to
the group by myself.

Thanks.
