Reboot your machine (CTRL-ALT-DEL), and when you get the Boot: prompt,
enter "-s".  This will bring it up in single user mode, and you can
change your password with "passwd".  Why don't you add another user ?
When you screw up as root, you screw up much worse than you do when you
aren't root !
